About F.L.A.G.
Origins
This tournament started as a simple idea to get a girl out of having to bake cookies to raise money for breast cancer research. Some girls just can’t bake. Some girls however, can shoot enemies all day and night from the comfort of their home.
Our Goal
We will prove to the world that gamers do more than just sit around eating chips, drinking Kool-Aid and playing games. While we may in fact love chips and Kool-Aid, there are thousands of us who are ready and willing to give. This tournament is a testament to that.
Our Thank You’s
Kari and Tasha would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors and supporters of this tournament from the bottom of our hearts. We never thought this would become an annual event raising thousands of dollars over a three week period. October has quickly become the most exciting month of the year for both of us. We are so proud to say that we are gamers changing the world. Thank you all so much for your participation.
Thank You to Bungie
Thank you for making a game which has made such a significant impact on our community. This tournament would not have existed without Halo, and it will forever be a Halo tournament. Thank you for helping us to bring gamers together for such a wonderful cause.
The Organizers

I just thought of the idea when I was working at Safeway in Seatac, WA. My store was trying to raise money for breast cancer research and I didn’t want to help with their bake sale. I wanted to turn my favorite hobby into a way to help raise money, and my favorite hobby just happened to be video games. I am a long time member of the all-female gaming group, The Cavegirls. I asked the girls if they would support an online Halo 2 tournament and they all agreed it was a great idea. Tasha has been helping me plan and run the tournament for two years in a row.

Breast cancer runs in my family so I was more than willing to help Kari run the Fight Like A Girl tournament. Not only am I doing something that I love, but I am also helping find a cure to this terrible disease. Running and organizing F.L.A.G. is a daunting task, but it is totally worth it in the end. It is great seeing gamers from many different communities come together for a common goal, the generosity of so many people just amazes me every year. We outgrow our previous tournaments each year, and I hope this trend continues this year and every year after.
